I've been slacking

So there's really no excuse for not having written in so long... I have nothing to say for myself except that every time I think about writing here I always have 'better' things to do. Mostly things like talking to Naomi, taking a walk with Naomi, watching a movie with Naomi, cooking dinner with Naomi, Skype-ing with Naomi, swimming with Naomi, going to church with Naomi, star-gazing with Naomi... you get the idea.

It's finally starting to sink in that she and I are engaged and really going to get married this summer. We still don't have a definite date yet, since we don't have a definite church yet, but if God works things out like we've been hoping and praying He will, it'll be August 30th, in the Waxhaw, NC area. It has been increasingly difficult to stay content lately, with Naomi living three hours away, and only getting to visit each other on the weekends. I know that God has plans for growth and experiences for each of us before we get married and can spend all our time with each other, but it is sometimes hard to see that in day-to-day living. We'd both really appreciate prayer for that, especially.

School continues to go well. This Friday will be the end of the first summer session here at NC State. I have been taking a calculus class, and that's been a nice, easy introduction back in to college life. The second session will bring a both a chemistry and an economics class, and I am expecting to have to put a bit more effort into those classes than I have had to do for calculus. And then the fall semester will start, and I'll be wondering why I ever wanted to go back to school in the first place.

God has been so good to Naomi and me. I am amazed and humbled each day by the way He continually works in each of our lives, bringing us both closer to Himself, and to each other as we walk this road towards marriage. I am so very excited! Thanks so much to all of you who have been praying for us in the last few months. God is truly good!
